Bulk edit Ultimate Member members in a spreadsheet
Changing a role, a status, or one custom field across hundreds of members is the job nobody wants to do by hand. Pro turns it into a round trip: download an edit-safe file for the members you filtered, change the cells you need, and import it back.
- Edit-safe export – Templates for profile details, roles and account status, or your own editable columns. Computed values such as WooCommerce totals stay out because they cannot be written back.
- Stable round trip – Headers use canonical field keys and every row carries the member ID, so re-import maps back even if a field label changes later.
- See it before you save it – “Check what will change” reads the whole file and reports rows to create, change, leave alone, skip, and error – plus which fields change and how many members each affects.
- Only real changes are written – Values are compared against what is stored, so re-importing an untouched file does nothing at all.
- Risky columns are opt-in – Username, email, password, role, and account status are left alone unless you explicitly allow them for that run.
- Bad rows are refused – A row whose ID, email, and username point at different members is rejected instead of quietly overwriting the wrong person.
Getting it wrong is survivable too. Every Pro import records the exact values it replaced, so Undo import in Import history puts them back – for up to 30 days, on finished, canceled, and failed runs alike. Members edited by hand afterwards are skipped and reported rather than rolled back over, and deleting the members an import created is a separate, explicitly confirmed choice.

Do I need Ultimate Member installed?
Yes. Export Users for Ultimate Member is an add-on for Ultimate Member and will not run without it. The plugin reads Ultimate Member form fields, account statuses, and profile meta the way Ultimate Member stores them.
Can I choose which fields are exported?
Yes. Use the drag-and-drop column mapper to include, exclude, search, and reorder core WordPress fields and Ultimate Member profile fields before download.
Can I filter which users are exported?
Yes. Filter by role, Ultimate Member account status, and registration date. The admin UI shows a live count of matching members before you export.
Why not use a generic WordPress user exporter?

Will bulk editing overwrite data I did not touch?
No. Every incoming value is compared against what is already stored, and only fields that actually differ are written. Rows where nothing changed are reported as “Already up to date” and skipped entirely. Before anything is saved, “Check what will change” shows which fields would change and how many members each one affects.
Can bulk editing change roles or passwords?
Only if you allow it. In bulk-edit mode, username, email, password, role, and account status are skipped by default and reported as warnings. Tick the protected-columns option on the last import step to apply them.
What if I import the wrong file?
Open Import history and use Undo import. Every Pro import records the exact values it replaced, so the previous data is written back – including the original password hash, so imported passwords can be undone without forcing a reset. Undo is available for 30 days and works on finished, canceled, and failed runs. Members edited by hand after the import are skipped and reported, and removing the members an import created is a separate, explicitly confirmed option.
Can I save my export settings?
Free saves up to 3 presets (filters + columns). Pro unlocks unlimited presets for recurring lists and scheduled delivery.
How many members can I export?
Free exports up to 2,000 matching members per download. Narrow filters or upgrade to Pro for unlimited exports and background jobs.
Can exports go to Amazon S3?
Amazon S3 is Pro-only. Free downloads stay on local disk or browser. Pro supports private signed URLs or a CloudFront / custom delivery domain.
